I. ROLL CALL
II. SPJ AWARDS ANNOUNCMENT
The Beverly Ann Deepe Keever Award went to Alyssa Navares. The Outgoing Senior award was given to Israel Chavez.
III. COMMITTEE POSITIONS
A. Podcast: Iz still will head it up. We will all learn the ways of Podcasting to start next week.
SEPT. 20 WORKSHOP 11:30 a.m. at Jay’s office (around 45 min)
B. Blog: Weekly posts by members, dependant upon sign-up date.
C. Social Events: Still undecided. Possibly bake sale, or Communications Department Picnic for dual fundraising purposes. Iz is looking into it.
IV. BLOG & PODCAST UPDATE
A. System rotation sign-up for both Blog and Podcast for Ka Leo. Partner up write script and speak or both do it together.
B. Issues brainstorming for the Blog: We will begin with “What it means to be a journalist”.
Will commence with President Alyssa Navares starting this week.
Must be completed by SUNDAY AT 7 P.M. Trading off weekly.
Next (week of Sept. 30) is Kumari Sherreitt followed by Isreal Chavez.

VI. TREASURER REPORT
A. From Israel Chavez, treasurer
1. Krispy Kreme was our most successful fundraising technique last year, so we would like to try it again. Asking Matt Tuoy for more info.
2. Bake sale, picnic ideas up in the air. Picnic we could produce a video for it and use that as a fundraiser, and as experience.
3. Sell t-shirts? Or stickers with a catchy slogan with something to do with freedom of the press. HOMEWORK is to come up with some ideas for the next meeting.
4. Possibly asking for media personalities for autographed pieces to sell?
5. E-mail Alyssa any more ideas for fundraising and socials you may have.
VII. WEBSITE
A. Advisor Lille will be looking into getting a free website because we are a RO. Loran Ho offered to help set it up.
B. Use the website to market our ideas and club, and work on service projects.
